DJ Jai Syncere’s appreciation for music was ignited when her father bought her first set of turntables when she was a teenager. Jai Syncere started her career as an aspiring DJ in the DC area in 2004. Her professional efforts, however, began when she interned at Radio One’s 93.9 (WKYS) in 2001. There she worked in promotions and observed professional djs during on-air events and while attending live shows. In 2005, she earned invaluable training that she carried on with her to another leading station 95.5 (WPGC). While working in the production department, she observed the works of other seasoned professionals.
During her years at the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University, she DJ’d at campus parties and used those skills to boost her ambition for her return to the DC Metropolitan area. She then quickly progressed to entering the club scene and has played at popular venues such as H2O, Fur, Love, Stadium Dc, Ibiza, Club Play Miami, Oro Nightclub Dominican Republic, along with a host of other popular venues. She’s been invited to play honorary performances at Baltimore arenas such as AFRAM & Sonar. These opportunities served as a catalyst for exposure and bookings at a variety of features spanning the United States and internationally. Jai’s notoriety also has landed her mentions in various notable publications locally and internationally.
Her popularity as a DJ has landed her opportunities to play for clients such as the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, Washington DC Presidential Inaugural balls, Sports Zone and also exclusive major label album release parties. She has been featured to play for events hosted by prime celebrities and spun with the likes of DJ Jazzy Joyce and more. She continues to expand her talents by also working in areas of management, production as well as multi-city promotional campaigns.
DJ Jai Syncere’s underlying goal is to sustain the legacy of the late, “Club Queen” DJ K-Swift, her friend and mentor. In homage of K-Swift, she entered Baltimore’s 92Q Jams “Diva of the Mix Contest 2011” and became a finalist. Currently she is a mixshow Dj and host for Baltimore’s Power 1047 Radio Station.
