Today, I (Elisia Collins) have a great honor of interviewing Book Author Arthur McCune. Tell us a Little about yourself and the name of your Book Picasso Love? (Arthur McCune Replies) I'm a man of style, finesse, class, and a US Army retired veteran now living in San Antonio, TX with my wife of 29 years. I have 2 daughters and grandchildren. I'm a fan of Picasso and his work, a big fan of college basketball, the NBA, the NFL and comedy shows. Smooth, satin, silky, velvety jazz and rhythmic and melodic rnb top my genre of music. Through a regimental diet and exercise program, supplemented with certain products I maintain a muscularly streamlined physique and youthful appearance as I approach my elderly years. I'm a positively influential laid back people person with a great sense of humor who plays pool and loves traveling. My book is titled Picasso Love--an autobiography fiction. What inspired you to start writing? (Arthur McCune Replies) The simple answer is, I want to let the world know I am in a story. I didn't want to leave this Earth with the thought of not putting my story in a book. My writing also stems from reading. With hundreds of millions of books out there, I thought a few years ago, English and writing have always been my favorite subjects. I love to write. I have what it takes to write a book, so here we are. How long have you been writing? (Author Arthur McCune Replies) Since I was 8 years old. Have you always wanted to be a writer? (Arthur McCune Replies) Yes. I'm convinced I was born with the passion to write. It's in my DNA. I write to compel, convince, and impress. What advice would you give a new writer, someone just starting out? (Arthur McCune Replies) Surely you've heard and witnessed it before. Every professional was once an amateur. Anyone who's good at writing didn't suddenly or even start out good. Write, rewrite, edit, rearrange, re-blend it. When you think of something, no matter where you are or what you're doing, voice record it, write it down, even if it's on your hand or forearm. I've actually done that and there were times I didn't record it and later forgot what it was. How do you handle writer’s block? Get away from the normal place you write. Take a break. Think, and rethink again and again. Dig deeper in the crevices of your mind. I experienced writer's block for 4 days with certain fears of not finishing. Then out of the blue, it came to me and actually I thoughts of better scenes to write as I was writing. Have an endgame, a plot and a twist makes it easier to get through the block. Sometimes one has to have a breakdown to breakthrough. Do you write while listening to music? (Arthur McCune Replies) Jazz and rnb mainly and occasionally soothing, mind relaxing music. Jazz and rnb is featured in my book--giving credit to the music artists. If so, what music inspired or accompanied this current book? (Arthur McCune Replies) My huge collection of jazz. As in the words Shakespeare, "When words fail, music speaks." What is the key theme and/or message in the book? (Arthur McCune Replies) I'm confident that I well blended and well-composed my story while speaking of jazz and selected rnb. My story implies positive influential message of being a loving kind person, helping those who are less fortunate, looking ahead and preparing for the latter years of your life in being healthy and well. Some readers who are somewhat depressed may even find their way back. A reader is sure to feel him or herself right in there as the scenes unfold and is sure to laugh, get goosebumps, and become suspenseful. It's a not too long not too short spectacular story. Born with the artistry, spirit, and likes of Picasso, a stylish, jazzy, well balanced, all around, and gifted pool player faces away from deep depression to find his ultimate focus and determination to the become the world's best in the game. In the end, he realizes it was all to save his mother, the game of pool, and humanity from the hands of pool's underworld viscous kingpin. Can you give us some insight into your characters? (Arthur McCune Replies) I'm the main character. 6'3" 218 lbs, puts in work and looks good. He has a wonderful mother, a disciplining father, 3 siblings and a true childhood friend throughout his life. He's a paperboy, but not just any paperboy. His journey through life is magical, full of wonder, love, and magic. Do you have a favorite character in your story? If so, who? And what makes him or her so special? (Arthur McCune Replies) Summer Rain, the lead character's leading lady. She is beautiful and helps get the main character through his depression without knowing it because she is his total package in beauty and love who compliments him very well. Where do you get your inspiration? (Arthur McCune Replies) I'm a self-inspired and self-motivated person. An all around man for all seasons. I'm also inspired by my mother, my late father, and successfully winning people. The book is dedicated to my late father who taught me well--depicted and personified in the story. If your book was to be made into a movie, who are the celebrities that would star in it? (Arthur McCune Replies) Chante Moore, Beyoncé, Omar Hardwick, Jason Mamoa, Cardi B, LaRoyce Hawkins, and a public figure and celebrity we'd all love to see on the big screen. His voice will be heard in the very beginning as he'll appear several times later. The soundtrack will feature nicely selected jazz, and rnb, a few pop hits, and a sprinkle of country which will be LIT and flying off the shelves What were the key challenges you faced when writing this book? (Arthur McCune Replies) Coming up with a good plot and twist. Making it a compelling, convincing, impressive, and suspenseful page turner that's well composed and well blended. Any plans for a sequel of your book? (Arthur McCune Replies) I anticipate it. My character has a son. Davinci. Stay tuned. What sites can we find your book to buy?
